Sally's first nephew.....Logan Aaron Roth is here!

Jen and Aaron welcomed Logan Roth into the world on March 11, 2010 at 2:31pm. weighing in at 5lbs 15oz and 19inches! We were blessed to be able to go up to Indy to see them on Sunday. What a precious little thing he is! I sure can't wait to go up there tomorrow (Spring break) and see him some more!

Snow, Snow and More Snow!

So here I sit on Chris' birthday in the comfy and warm house typing this blog. We were hit with 8 inches of snow early Monday morning and are still off from school today and maybe tomorrow too. The kids were going nuts wanting to play with other kids so I took them to the sitter's today for that very reason! Chris is in Las Vegas for work this week. So, the house is actually quiet and I have a few moments to myself. There really hasn't been too much going on since the 1st weekend in January (the last post) except for snow! We have had snow days (at least one and mostly two) each of the last three weeks! The kids built a snowman and played for a short time in it, but it was so bitter cold that the fun only lasted 10 minutes! It took three times as long to get them in and out of snow gear to go outside than the time actually spent playing in the snow! Oh well, it was fun!

Fun in South Bend over New Year's

On the 1st of January, we traveled to South Bend to celebrate with our niece, Michelle, who was getting married on Saturday. We arrived to about 5 inches of lake effect snow, and constant snow showers were predicted for the remainder of the weekend. Matthew was so excited b/c of the snow! We celebrated the new year with the rehersal dinner, complete with black eyed peas, collared greens, and pulled pork. On Saturday morning we drove the few blocks to the Norte Dame campus (where Michelle attends school) and let the kids out to play in the snow. They absolutely loved it! On Saturday evening, Michelle and Mike were married in a ceromony that was unconventional, but totally suited them.

After the band played a few songs, there was more music and dancing and food! Matthew had a great time running around with the other kids, and even made a friend. Kaelyn just loved the music and wanted to dance. Unfortunately, everytime she would make her way to the dance floor and begin to dance, I would try to take a picture and she would stop! I did finally get one of her dancing with Chris.

On Sunday morning, we headed to church and then for home. Thankfully, Kaelyn slept for a good 3 hours and Matthew had his leapster to keep him busy in the car. Once we arrived home, it was off to baths and bed so that we could get up early for work and school on Monday morning!

Christmas with the Stewart's

We went to mom and dad's the weekend after Christmas to celebrate with my side of the family. We had a short, but very nice visit due to weather and needing to be back for work reasons. On Sunday, Doug and Courtney were able to arrive before the snow started and we were all together to celebrate. Matthew and Kaelyn loved getting into their Christmas stockings.

Matthew had a "Star Wars" Christmas and was absolutely estatic about it!

Kaelyn figured out how to unwrap the gifts and was quite the trash picker-upper, as she would tear a small piece off and then promplty give it to papper who had the trash bag! While Kaelyn liked the presents, she also found enjoyment in other things, like putting her face up to the cold window

and dancing with my mom.

Due to the winter storm that had hit while we were celebrating, we couldn't stay as late as we would have liked. Fortunately, we were able to make it home safely even though it took 4&1/2 hrs instead of the normal 3!

Christmas Day

Just a couple of shots to capture the excitement of Santa's visit while the kids were sleeping....

We are spending the day at home, enjoying the kids excitement. Later we will have dinner with Chris' family. We are heading up to Indy tomorrow morning for Christmas with Sally's family, so watch for more posts.

Christmas Eve

Traditionally we spend Christmas Eve at Chris' dad's house, and this year was no exception. We were able to go to the early mass this year instead of the midnight mass (which is always too late for the kids). It was a good way to start out our Christmas celebration, with focusing on the birth of baby Jesus. After mass, we awaited the arrival of Santa Claus. The kids were pretty excited to see him, all except Kaelyn, that is. Here are the kids with Santa.

Kaelyn wouldn't go to Santa at all, so I had to hold her nearby, and she was holding onto me for dear life! After Santa left, we had our meal and while the adults talked, the kids eagerly awaited the gift exchange and presents from papper and Betty. Here are a couple of good shots from the rest of the evening.

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with both Chris' family and Sally's family over the long weekend. It was a small gathering at Chris' dad's house, as most of the family will be here for Christmas Eve instead. At Sally's parents' house, everyone was there, and we even managed to get a pretty decent family picture.
